I bought two Ruger AR Gen 2 at the same time - a 308 Predator and this 20” 223. I’ve never done that in my 66 years. And, I’ve never been as thrilled with a purchase! Feature loaded at nominal cost and highly accurate in a 6.5# rifle!! Spiral fluting, awesome adjustable trigger, smooth action, great muzzle break (I shoot suppressed though). Both shoot clover leaf groups at 100 yards and my trigger press sucks. You just can’t go wrong with a Ruger Gen 2 package. One thing though……on the 223, I had to remount the picatiiny rail. It shot off the target to the right out of the box. Just tightened and torqued the screws evenly.
The second generation of the Ruger American is awesome, love the 3 position safety, the fluted barrel with the mussel break installed from the factory. The cheek rise and the adjustable LOP is a great improvement. It has the same awesome trigger and the bolt is smooth, I am enjoying this rifle very much and it's on target.
