I gave a glowing review concerning these shells before when used on large field rats, and am standing by it.
Since that initial review, I took a 2.5’-3’ rattlesnake during spring turkey season this past year with excellent terminal results. The only thing that I would say to those using these shells in small handguns is that the shot pattern comes out more like a large bullet at close/point blank ranges, than a shot pattern; beware on venomous snakes! You can miss the entire target, as I did. Although I should’ve known this phenomenon would occur going in, I didn’t think it would be so acute.
Nevertheless, still my go-to choice for .22 mag shot
