Description
The Smith & Wesson Model 57 is an outstanding double-action revolver introduced in 1964, chambered in the potent .41 Magnum cartridge. Built on the robust N-frame, this revolver was designed to offer law enforcement and shooting enthusiasts a firearm that bridged the gap between the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum calibers. Its versatility has made it a favored choice for target shooting and hunting applications.
This Model 57 appears to be in unfired condition, preserving its original blued finish and showcasing the craftsmanship typical of Smith & Wesson firearms from that era. The revolver features a 6-inch barrel, providing an excellent balance between accuracy and handling. Shooters can expect precise aiming when equipped with a red ramp front sight and an adjustable white outline rear sight. The target trigger and hammer enhance the shooting experience, offering a smooth and responsive action.
Notably, the factory-installed wooden target grips exhibit a minor cosmetic imperfection: a rub-type mark on the left grip panel. While this slight blemish does not affect the revolver's performance, it adds a unique character to the firearm. Overall, this Model 57 is a shining example of Smith & Wesson's commitment to quality and remains a prized piece for collectors and shooting enthusiasts alike.
